On Pieces of Filth

The last 2 weeks have been really hard with Steven away. I feel like I am just surviving on adrenalin.

I thought I had cured it tonight when I had a couple of friends over for a 'stitch in' downstairs. We all get the sewing machines out, the projects we're working on, a cuppa and some munchies. We chat and laugh and sew. When the girls left tonight I felt totally relaxed and ready for bed. Did a quick check on Facebook and saw that Steven was on so we had a little chat. Now I'm seriously fired up and ready for a freakin' fight! It wasn't Steven...but something happened down there tonight that has my blood BOILING!

Steven went to a training session with someone that he thought he knew. The guy treated him badly from the moment he walked in. An argument started and then the guy says blah blah blah 'and your Disabled Daughter'......please accept my apologies for what I am about to say.....

WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!! How dare you! How dare you mention her! How dare you use her in derogatory manner! How dare you refer to her in derogatory manner! You low down piece of shit on my shoe!!!!! I cannot believe that there is this type of scum in the world that breathe my air....and Ayla's.....and pollute it with their foul and distasteful breath!

As I said....I apologise if you are offended but OMG! I needed to get that out before I went to bed.

Steven was VERY well behaved. He dropped his bagged and went at him but only belted him with words which is lucky considering the talks that were given at work today.

Nuff said.....but unfortunately, I am still steaming!

Obviously people will always have differing opinions on any event, that's just human nature. However, without providing more context other than blah blah blah 'and your Disabled Daughter', it is hard to understand what precisely was so offensive.

Disabled is a statement of fact not a derogatory label. Obviously it can be used nastily, was it used in such a manner? If so, then you should provide context that justifies your reaction. If not, then isn't it possible that you are overreacting?

Finally, when people are tired, stressed or upset (as often happens when separated from loved ones), otherwise harmless events have a way of getting blown out of all proportion. I hope that you can see things in a different light once your family is reunited.

James you are correct in assuming that people do have differing opinions on any one event. You are also correct in saying that disabled is a statement and not a derogatory label. Was it used nastily in this instance? Yes, it was.

You are actually wrong in assuming that I "should provide context that justifies your reaction", because I don't have to. I chose not to put into written word exactly what was said because I don't wish to repeat it and I don't wish to keep re-reading it. I also don't have to provide context because it is my blog, with my own personal thoughts and feelings and whether or not you believe that I am over-reacting, these are still the feelings that I experienced. This blog for me is about being in the moment with my thoughts and feelings around my daughter and those feelings are sometimes uplifting but sometimes down and dirty...but nonetheless REAL and RAW. That's what this blog represents to me.

Thank you for your interest and input and I hope my response doesn't disappoint you.

Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to gray
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces every time
And I don't need no carryin' on

Because you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Will you need a blue sky holiday?
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on

You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day

(Oooh.. a holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong

(yeah...)

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day.

now c'on.. someday you'll find it.. the rainbow connection , the lovers the dreamers and meeeeeee.

Hi, i hope your previous post is not continuing to way you down. There are some thoughtless cruel people in the world, and from time to time we come across them. We just can't let them get to us or they win ( they will drag us down into the gutter with them).

Any way i wanted to tell you that Kim got a real laugh out of your comment about Harri's reason for laughing.

Maybe we will see you in Sydney. We are 4th & 5th August. Regards Matt

@Louise. Thank you for that Louise. Yes, we all have bad days and clearly you were having one when you left that comment. There is a simple solution....If you don't like the blog, don't read it. Have a nice day and I hope you are feeling a little less angry today.
